Rhythm Hive has released it’s major Season 4 update. This post will dive into the new missions, new gameplay, and also share my personal opinion and those I’ve seen from others on the quality of the update.

When Rhythm Hive said it would be an overhaul, they weren’t lying. There’s a totally new layout, new functionality, new gameplay, new missions, and also an abundance of things they’ve removed. You can use this menu to find what you’re looking for.

New Functions

When you open Rhythm Hive for the first time after the update, you can choose an Artist’s Message that you would like to hear (I chose Yoongi). It’s honestly a really sweet message too.

The new lobby skins have arrived. You can obtain them through the Collection Book. The updated skins for the game lobby are:

You can change your lobby skin by pressing the house with a gear icon in the top left then clicking the box with the “refresh” symbol. The symbol below that allows you to equip voice and lettings effects. You can also click the bottom icon in this dropdown to go into “clear” mode to screenshot the lobby skin.

Player Profile

The next button over on the lobby is the player profile. You can see your level, name, gems, gold, and play tokens. If you click on it, it will bring you to the player profile. Here you can change your username, your preferred group, your studio step-up score (only the top scores of renewal songs will be summed up), the profile skin selection, equip effect selection (both voice and lettering), as well as your collection progress.

In the top right corner, you have your clear mode and game settings buttons. On the right side of the screen you have the comments menu. If you click on it, it will slide out the comments and greetings left on your page. You can also see if someone has liked your diary and can set your greeting.

 

Community Tab

The community tab now contains friends from each group for a total of 120 friends. You can send and recieve your friendship gifts in this tab. In the top right section you can now see how many friendship tokens you have as well as how many diamonds, and then the Contents tabs as well.

Messages Tab

In your messages tab, you will see any messages you have such as daily log in rewards. You can click “accept all” to accept all message rewards.

Contents Tab

In the contents tab, return to the lobby (house with arrow icon) or you can close the menu (X icon). You can also access the card draw, shop, diary shop, performance cards, collection book, quests, my profile, message box, community, possessions, and settings.

Card Draw

Whether you access this from the Contents tab or the button that says “Draw” in the lobby, you’ll reach where you can draw cards.

Currently there are 5 tabs under card draw in the left menu.

  1. Rhythm Carnival is a limited card draw event that costs 180 gems to draw 10 cards. You can view the drop rates by hitting the percent button.
    1. Name: Rhythm Carnival
    2. Cost: 180 gems for 10 cards
    3. Grade Chances: A-XR
    4. Guarantees
      1. 2 cards from each group
      2. 1 R Card for each 10 draws
    5. Appearing Theme: All themes, including special themes.
    6. 10 draws available until July 5, 10:59:59.
  2. Music Card Pack is where you use the rhythm tokens to draw cards. (The rhythm tokens formerly were used under the game play tab). You can review drop chances by selecting the percent icon.
    1. Name: Music Card Pack
    2. Cost: 50 x 1 Card Draw, 500 x 10 Card Draws
    3. Grade Chances – B-XR Cards of All Groups
    4. Appearing Themes: Album & Season
  3. Royal Music Card Pack is where you can use the Royal Tickets or Hive Gems  to draw cards. You can review drop chances by selecting the percent icon.
    1. Name: Royal Music Card Pack
    2. Cost: 1 Royal Ticket x 1 card, 10 Royal Tickets x 10 cards, 20 gems x 1 card (give 1 mileage point), 200 gems x 10 cards (gives 11 mileage points).
    3. Guarantees:
      1. 1 R Grade Card for each 10 draws.
    4. Appearing Themes: Album & Season
  4. Concept Photo is where you can obtain concept photos (that increase your card boost by artists). You can review drop chances by selecting the percent icon.
    1. Name: Concept Photo Draw Ticket / Normal Theme Concept Photo Pack
    2. Cost: 1 Concept Photo Draw Ticket x 1 Concept Photo, 5 Concept Photo Draw Tickets x 5 Concept Photos.
    3. Guarantees:
      1. If you receive a concept photo you already have, you will receive 2,000 Gold as a replacement.
  5. Sticker Pack is where you can draw stickers for your diaries. You can review drop chances by selecting the percent icon.
    1. Name: Sticker Pack
    2. Cost: 1 sticker ticket for 1 sticker, 5 sticker tickets for 5 stickers.
Shop

The shop is where you can buy several in-game assets.

  • Subscribe Tab – Hive Pass
    • Buy a hive pass for each group using the tabs at the top.
      • Currently available during the subscription:
        • Exclusive Stage Items
        • Exclusive Hive Pass-exclusive Concept Photos
    • Cost: $4.99 each
  • Subscribe – Fan Plus
    • Buy a fan plus for each group using the tabs at the top.
    • Currently available during the subscription:

      • Voice pack for each artist member.
    • Cost: $6.49 each
  • You can also buy individual packages for gems, cards, and game play under the regular products tab.
  • Under Theme Packages you can buy cards, and concept photos, for either money, paid gems, or mileage points. Use the tabs to select the artist.

  • Resources – Hive Gems
    • You can spend cash to get paid hive gems or watch 2 ads per day to get 10 hive gems per ad.
  • Resources – Gold
    • Exchange gems for gold.
  • Resources – Music Point
    • You can spend 100 gold to get 5 music points once a day.
    • You can spend gems to get music points.
  • Item Exchange – Specials
    • Exchange UR card tickets to receive a UR Royal Music Card Pack.
      • 1 UR card ticket can be exchanged for a specific artist group.
      • Mileage points can be used to receive a random 1 XR Royal Music Card Pack, 20 card Royal Music Card Pack, or 10 card Royal Music Card Pack. All group card appear.
  • Item Exchange – Miscellaneous
    • Exchange Hiver Points to receive a Hiver Gift Box for a specific artist group.
    • Exchange Friends Points to receive a Friendship Gift Box
Diary Shop

In the diary shop you can acquire items to use in your diaries such as paper, binder, and stickers.

  • Recommended Products
    • Exchange paid gems to acquire new diaries, new paper skins, and binders.
  • Decoration Sticker Pack
    • Currently you can exchange paid gems for:
      • Rainy Day Sticker Pack (Limited 11 days)
      • Fruit Season Sticker Pack

    • Under these respective tabs you can buy group stickers or member stickers in exchange for gems.
Performance Card

This is an area will you will likely be often.

  • Owned Cards –
    • See all the cards you have organized by the group (see the top tabs).
    • You can order by Grade, Level, or Acquisition Tabs.
    • You can also filter based on member, group, and grade.
    • Sell –
      • You can sell all cards that meet a specific criteria, or select individual cards to sell in exchange for memory tokens.
    • If you click on a card you can see the theme details, the grade, level, and Card Set Bonus Music. You can also view the card missions and exp up.
      • Card Missions – From what I’ve seen, the card missions include:
        • Achieve Grade XR Level 50
        • Achieve Grade UR Level 1
        • Acheive Grade UR Level 25
        • Achieve Grade UR Level 50
        • Achieve Grade UR Level 60
  • EXP Up –
    • You can now use 20 cards to level up instead of the previous 10 or you can use the new EXP cards
  • Upgrade
    • Here you can see all of the max level cards you have that you can upgrade to the next level using Rhythm Cubes.
  • Trade Shop
    • In the trade shop you can Exchange Memory Points for EXP cards or Rhythm Cubs.
  • TRADE
    • Obtain 1 out of all the themes of your selected member in grades S, R, XR, and UR.
    • Cost: 5,000 – 20,000 Gold + 2-7 Cards of the Same Grade.
    • You can choose which member from each group you’d like to trade for.
Collection Book

This is another area you can spend time in completing challenges. When you go to the colleciton book you can view artist collection and theme collection.

Artist Collection

If you click on a member’s photo you can view their name, birthday, blood type, zodiac sign, and nicknames. You can also see their Card Stats Buff, how many cards you have of them, concept photos, profile skins, skin & movie, message, and voice.

Theme Collection

You can see each card, concept photo, and profile skin for each theme available.

Completing collections gives you 50 diamonds each time.

Quests

Here’s another area that you’ll be in often.

You can see your daily quests, weekly quests, and and special event quests (Currently the Renewal Challenge).

Daily Quests:

Daily Quests Reset at 12PM KST/11AM EST each day.

  • Perfect Play – Clear with up to 3 Good – Receive 50 rhythm tokens, 200 gold
  • Expert Performance – Clear with at least 100,000 points. – Receive 50 rhythm tokens, 200 gold
  • Marvelous Collector – Stack 1,500 Marvelous – Receive 60 rhythm tokens
  • Gather and Collect Points – Accumulate 250,000 – Receive 50 rhythm tokens
  • Studio Connoisseur – Clear Studio x 2 – Receive 50 rhythm tokens
  • Rhythm Token Collector – Open Music Card Pack x 10 – Receive 1 EXP Card Bronze
  • Improve Performance Card – Use Card EXP x2 – Receive 1 Rhythm Cube
  • A Card Upgrade Complete – Acquire A Grade or Higher card with Upgrade x 1 – Receive 50 rhythm tokens
  • Your friendly neighbor – Leave Greeting Message x1 – Receive 30 rhythm tokens

As you complete Daily Quests, you unlock rewards:

Rhythm Hive Game Play

Click “Music Arcade” to begin playing.

Chapter Stage *There is a requirement to complete the first 3 chapter 0 stages before you can access the studio.

Studio.

In the studio you can see the top ranking score for each song, as well as your best score. You can click on the award icon to see the song missions where you can earn gems. You can earn gems for completing the song on each difficulty, by completing the song up to 50 times, for earning specific scores or combos on each difficulty.

Rhythm Hive has taken away the previous chapters, live stage, and cheer stage.

In game play, Rhythm Hive has added 3 new beats. If you see the beat with an arrow pointing up left, straight up, or up right you need to flick your finger in that direction.  Rhythm Hive has also increased the cost to play a full song (2 play tokens). Rhythm Hive has also implemented a life bar that takes hits any time you miss a beat or get a fair.
